INCI: JOJOBA (SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS) OIL, Buxus Chinensis, Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil is gained from the seeds of the jojoba plant which is native to Mexico, Arizona and California. Despite its name, jojoba oil is not an oil, but a wax that melts at room temperature. This way, it can provide extensive nourishment without leaving a greasy film. It is suitable for all skin types and can have anti-inflammatory, moisturising and lipid-replenishing effects.
Jojoba oil is characterized by its very high amount of fatty acids. In addition to this, it contains vitamin E as well as provitamin A and offers a natural sun protection factor (SPF 4). Therefore, it can increase the effectiveness of sun protection creams and support a longer lasting tan.
Vitamin E provides protection from free radicals and provitamin A (beta caroteine) stimulates skin regeneration and prevents wrinkles.
Jojoba oil deprives germs, micro-organisms and yeast (candida albicans) located on the skin surface of their living condition, as it cannot be processed by the metabolism. Thus, its a popular ingredient for treating acne-prone or impure skin.
